01 / OUR MINISTRY
A voice raised in faith can bring us closer to God—and to one another.
Dehonian Music Ministry is a place for music and devotion to meet. Inspired by the Sacred Heart of Jesus, our purpose is to make every song an expression of prayer, gratitude, and love.
Whether we sing, play, or listen, we share in something beautiful: hearts turned toward God, together.

03 / OUR FOUNDER
1843 — 1925
A priest of the Sacred Heart whose life joined deep prayer with courageous service to people and society.
Leo John Dehon was born on March 14, 1843, in La Capelle, France. Although his family first envisioned a career in law for him, his desire for the priesthood remained. He pursued his formation in Rome and was ordained a priest on December 19, 1868.
His ministry brought him to Saint-Quentin, where he encountered the spiritual and social struggles of workers, young people, and families. For Fr. Dehon, faith could never remain distant from everyday life. Love of God had to become compassion, justice, education, dialogue, and service.
On June 28, 1878, Fr. Dehon made his first religious profession and founded the congregation that became the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Its spirituality was rooted in the Heart of Christ: receiving God's love, responding with love, and allowing that love to renew both people and society.
Fr. Dehon encouraged social ministry, education, support for clergy, and missionary service. The congregation grew beyond France into other parts of Europe, the Americas, and Africa. He died in Brussels on August 12, 1925, leaving a spiritual family shaped by prayer, mission, and devotion to the Sacred Heart.
HIS LEGACY IN OUR SONG
As Dehonian Music Ministry, we carry this spirit through music. We seek more than beautiful sound: we offer prayer, build communion, and place our gifts at the service of others. Every voice and every note can become an expression of a heart turned toward Christ and open to the world.
